Who we are

Our story began in 2005, when we met while Brad was serving as the Area Director for Young Life in Asheboro, North Carolina. Jamie immediately began serving alongside him, and from the beginning our ministry grew from shared calling and partnership. We married in 2007 and, in 2009, moved to Durham where Brad worked with teenagers at Blacknall Presbyterian Church for thirteen years—again with Jamie faithfully investing in students and families alongside him. In 2022, we moved to Charlotte to serve youth and families at Westminster Presbyterian, and it was there that we became increasingly aware of the deep challenges facing families today. We began to realize that the best way to care for teenagers is to help their families live more intentionally and more connected to the Kingdom of God.

In 2025, we stepped off staff at Westminster to take a long-overdue sabbatical and pray about where God was leading us next. We sensed that if God was going to speak, He would do so through the voices of the people who know and love us—so we intentionally spent time with friends, former students, families, and ministry partners from Asheboro, Durham, and Charlotte. Through those conversations, a clear theme began to emerge: God was inviting us to continue walking with the families we’ve invested in for nearly two decades, while planting deeper roots here in Charlotte.

Growing Seed Ministries is the response to that calling—a ministry rooted locally but flexible enough to remain connected with the communities we’ve served for years. Whether at our table, on a retreat, or in the ordinary rhythms of life, we are committed to helping families slow down, breathe, and rediscover the grace already at work beneath the surface.
